Parent Education series: Learning in the Natural Environment
Format: Virtual, combination of group and individual sessions
Session length: Six (6) 90 minute group sessions, AND three (3) 45 minute individual sessions
Program Length: Six weeks
Eligibility: Parents of children six (6) years and younger with a diagnosis of ASD, developmental disability or delays across multiple developmental domains who wish to incorporate more learning opportunities and child/care-giver interactions at home
Screening Visit: Not Required
Description:
Group sessions provided by two therapists and may include a Behaviour Consultant and a BCBA ;
Six (6) week group sessions to be completed over six (6) consecutive weeks
Three (3) individual 45 minute sessions to be scheduled throughout the six weeks
Designed for parents wishing to develop a repertoire of strategies to help their child become more socially engaged with others, increase communication skills, expand play routines, and increase flexibility in play;
Will provide parents with steps to: increase positive interactions with their child; create opportunities for learning during play activities and daily routines
