In order to help prevent the spread of diseases including COVID-19 (Corona virus), ISAND has putting the following measures in place:

1. All clients will be expected to use hand sanitizer at the beginning of every treatment/therapy session – ISAND therapists will provide;

2. Clients will be expected to re-apply hand sanitizer during their session If they sneeze, cough or blow their nose – ISAND therapists will provide;

3. ISAND representatives may choose to wear a mask while at work;

4. ISAND will wipe down all toys, equipment, door handles, and furniture used in the therapy session after every session using disinfectant wipes;

5. ISAND will wipe down all waiting room furniture, Moneris machine and door handles at a minimum of three times per day;

6. Hand sanitizer will be available in the waiting room;

7. We ask that clients refrain from coming in for your treatment if you or a family member is experiencing any of the following symptoms:

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Pneumonia

8. The Canadian Government is currently asking anyone who has travelled to the following regions to self-isolate for a period of fourteen (14) days upon your return.

  • China
  • Iran
  • Italy

We will be happy to try and re-schedule any appointments for a new time after the two week period.

9. Canada has also issued travel advisories for:

  • Northern Italy
  • South Korea
  • Japan
  • Singapore

If you or a close family/friend has recently returned from any of these countries, we are asking that you follow the preventative measures listed below and seek medical attention if you have symptoms. If you have symptoms or are concerned about possibly being infected, please ISAND and look to re-schedule appointments for a new date that is at least two weeks in the future.

Toronto Public Health has provided the following information regarding COVID-19 and Preventative Measures:

There is currently no vaccine to prevent COVID-19. The best way to prevent infection is to avoid being exposed to this virus. Prevention measures include:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands
  • Avoid close contact with people who are ill
  • Stay home when you are ill
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then immediately throw the tissue in the garbage and wash your hands
  • If you don’t have a tissue, sneeze or cough into your sleeve or arm
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces
